I mentioned riding in an empty Yamanote Line train last year, but talk is cheap. Here's a quick video of that.

This is inside the now-ubiquitous E235 EMU in May of 2021. I believe it was arriving at Shinbashi Station. You can see at least one person in the car ahead, and another in the car behind, but I'm the only person in car #2.

Note the open windows, and the air conditioner was running, too. This was JR East's strategy to prevent cluster infections, to circulate fresh air as much as possible.
