You didn't read my post well, just arguing? This isn't HSR - NOT ribbon rail with expansion joints. Kagoshima Line near Kumamoto. Maybe A.I. (translation software) sucks?

No derailment, and the engineer reported slight train handling issues. About 3 hours disruption. Likely stick rail with regular joints, so relatively easy to remedy.

I figured not all lines had them, or enough of them during severe periods, it is just interesting to see this method.

I was dreaming that lines could be built with joint bars and perhaps 4 or 6 inch removable sections on UP's main
