Vale mining ordered new locomotives for EFVM (Brazil)
Author: pedrop

Vale mining finaly decided to order Evolution series locomotives to its narrow gauge system EFVM. Today I could see the templates of itt testing the clearances in my area for loading areas and also any other things that can needs to be modified to receive the new units. It is said that they will be ES44ACi on narrow gauge using BB trucks. But dufferent frm the Rumo and VLi ES43BBis, the Vale model will come with standard cab.  Let´s see.
Here are some pics of train H507 testing the clearance in my area.

1) Vale 1280 passing by EVP station;

2)  Running throug the yard;

Interesting. I had thought they were going with SD70ACe-BB units instead originally. Thanks for sharing.
