JR Ohimachi Open House
Author: Hiroshi

Here are some photos from JR Ohimachi Open House taken place on Aug 23. The facility is located near JR Ohimachi Station where major maintenance works performing on commuter trains including class 201s, class 205s, class 209s. Clear up and sunshine, very nice weather to look around and take photos of JR trains. Every year JR tries to bring in new faces for us to see.

This year, Class 209 Keihin Tohoku (1st Photo) was used as a rest area, very nice and cool place to be in! At the end of the inspection area, You will see some veterans from JNR era welcomes as usual(2nd photo).
Here is a formation of today! Kumoha 12, Kumoni 13, Kumoya 90, and Observation (3rd Photo from right to left).
Here is another formation waiting you to see. Class 165, Nade and Kumoya 193. Kumoya 193 is an inspection train which you will not see everyday. (4th photo from right to left).
Also this three-car consist class 165 is used for a mini excursion run inside the yard limit.
Here is a photo of class 165 and two sets of class 201 at the new yard. (6th photo)

Exceelent stuff on an area that is new to me.

One question: in the 4th picture down, is the unit on the left the same as supplied to Indonesia?

Cars went to Indonesia were from Tokyo Metro Government's Mita Line. Actually these 72 exported cars have very similar appearance except they are stainless steel body cars.

Hope this helps.

Hi Hiroshi:

Looks like you did excellent work getting the photos. You must have had the people filter on for some of them.

Thanks for sharing theses.
