International Railroad Discussion > Night contest entry.....last train for Ugo-HonjoDate: 05/23/04 19:45 Night contest entry.....last train for Ugo-Honjo Author: LesWhite It's just the last service for the night at around 2359 as a local train in the rain waits departure from Akita station in northern Japan May 12 2004......
most JR passenger local services cease between midnight and 5am the boarding over the tracks adds to the light reflections in the damp conditions....... Date: 05/24/04 15:01 Re: Night contest entry.....last train for Ugo-Honjo Author: Hiroshi Class 701 was introduced in June 1993 to Akita area as a two-car consist:
Kumoha 701(Control motored coach Mc) and Kuha 700(control coach Tc). This set was designed to replace an electric locomotive pulled passenger coach service. Since then, it can be seen almost everywhere on Utesu main line between Akita and Sakata and Ohu main line between Aomori and Shinjyo. Hope this helps. Hiroshi Date: 05/24/04 17:23 info on Sakata Author: LesWhite Just wondering Hiroshi if the city of Sakata is where they named a very popular brand of crackers/cookies from?
