KOFU......morning peak hour.........

Kofu station on May 12th 2004......busy with commuters connecting on to the wide view express #4004M to Shizuoka in the south.......this service depatrs 0851 and runs close to Mt Fuji thru very scenic gorges and valleys...arrival in Shizuoka is 1058,also a commuter train on the other side and an electic loco waiting a signal.....

a closer shot of loco EF 65-1107,i arrived in Kofu the previous afternoon and this loco was stabled here in the yard......it was started up around 0830 and left shortly before 9am lite engine towards the north on the Chuo main line......a number of container trains came thru at regular intervals during the previous 12 hours......Kofu is a very busy place.....

Shizuoka...lunch time hour

A couple of standard units at Shizuoka,one for Hamamatsu taken same day at 1110am.....

one thing i noticed......is that although both units were in the standard orange/green livery..the wraparound paint design on the noses are slightly different......

The previous night at Kofu many container trains were seen passing and stopping here for timetables paths.......this one waits to head north on the Chuo main line just after sunset at Kofu station refuge loop.....

Sure!!

One in the left is an East bound class 115 EMU heading for Atami whilst one in the right is a West bound class 113 heading for Hamamatsu. Although both are basically the same but some detail parts are very different including painting design. Class 115 has been winterized version 115-1000s.

It is Class EF65 Number 1107.It is a JR East passenger locomotive assigned to Tabata though it does not have HEP capability.
