Railfan Technology > Camera Odometer?Date: 09/23/07 13:49 Camera Odometer? Author: Mgoldman Is there a way to determine how many "clicks" a camera has on it?
Theoretically, I can look at the file number but that would assume it was not rolled over or reset. Also, not sure if the filing system counts RAW in addition to JPEG. Camera in question is my Canon 20D. Thanks. Date: 09/23/07 14:04 Re: Camera Odometer? Author: qnyla You can use Opanda IEXIF (freeware) to read the number of shutter actuations from the image serial number in the EXIF. Beware it is a bit cryptic. There are some other programs that read this information as well (such as Capture One which is not free). Some like cancount only work with 1D series Canon cameras.
I'm sure with a bit of Googling you can find a free program for the 20D. Date: 09/23/07 14:53 Re: Camera Odometer? Author: Mgoldman A Google seach earlier yeilded me Opanda but I can not find
the detail for total frames "clicked". It works, and works nicely but I do not see that field when I right click on either unmodified RAW or JPEGs. I saw on Google that someone also could not find it and was told to look for a field that does not exist. Perhaps you need the registered version for that? http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/index.html Date: 09/26/07 18:06 Re: Camera Odometer? Author: splicer I have Opanda ver. 2.26 free. When I open a photo through Opanda a large field of info appears and after a scroll to the bottom of the list, the fifth (5) entry from the bottom is " Total number of S". S is for shutter release. I must be a bit of a slacker, my D70 just passed 1900.
