Railfan Technology > Slide scanning problemDate: 02/10/12 16:30 Slide scanning problem Author: biff I have an Epson scanner that will scan 4 slides at a time. Recently I started getting a line running from the top to bottom on on the right side of the scans. The line appears in the same location on all scans. Heres an example, just to the right of the engine. I cant see anything that might cause it to happen. Any ideas why?

I called Epson and they called it a hardware issue, after running me through a battery of tests. Returned it for an exchange.
Scanned over 25,000 slides with the replacement Epson so far. No recurrence of the problem. Randy Date: 02/11/12 07:43 Re: Slide scanning problem Author: Ray_Murphy This is probably caused by a bad cell in the CCD (charge-coupled device) sensor, which is normally a linear array in scanners:

Looks like a show stopper if it goes through all four images. Date: 02/11/12 10:46 Re: Slide scanning problem Author: biff All 4 scans will have it in the same position.
