More than one way to skin a Mac
Author: ddavies

I have an about 5 year old Mac Pro, the new ones have Thunderbolt and USB3, but of course, Apple doesn't make PCI boards to put in my computer to use USB3 ... Since I have a dual boot Mac, I got a USB3 card for Windows, so when I boot into Windows I can use USB3. Now when I come home from shooting, I boot into Windows, download the memory cards on a USB3 reader, then switch over to Mac to work on the images.

I don't know exactly which Mac Pro you have but there are a number of OS X compatible USB3 card solutions available from third parties. One such is here...

Actually, I just opted for the most expensive fix ... a new MacPro ...
