I would guess so... H@ll... I run ATCS on a Dell netbook that
runs ATCS with wine on linux. It might depend on how patient
a person was to get it running in any OS.

HTH.

As long as it is running the full Windows (Not the RT version), it should work for ATCS.

I'll work for flex track but I have to draw the line somewhere.

Given all the news about Lenovo lately, I would be leery of buying any of their products.

Here's a couple of items about their recent problem:

I saw that about the Lenovos. Nothing like letting the Chinese imbedded access to the world computer networks.

The $200 computers do represent a trend which might make the ATCS systems more reasonable for railfan use as well as making reservations on the road.

This is off topic somewhat, but I figured those who are following this thread would be knowledgeable folks.

Are there websites where one can access ATCS displays? I am not inclined to do the technical stuff needed to have ATCS on a computer, but would like to access ATCS on occasion.

I did try doing a search, but didn't come up with anything.

Thanks.

It's very common to have an ATCS Monitor set up in one location and have a number of people access the info from field locations. The Users need to sign up at the ATCS website since there is an outstanding Patent or Copyright on the process, which conveniently plays into a sign-up for the TSA folks as well. You should know up front that all the ATCS Users are required to be registered with the ATSC site which in my mind puts the user into a special place in the RR related database of 'The Feds'. Which keeps everybody in the hobby out of trouble.

That said, I don't have a list of sites, that would be part of the membership in the Yahoo Groups ATCS Monitor discussion site.

*It was pointed out that 'registered' may not be the best description, I'll change it to 'a special place in the RR related database'.

If a Windows 10 tablet comes along under $200 you might have to work less hours for that than you would have to for 10 pieces of code 83 flex track and 6 switches for the yard lead.

Thanks for the help. I am now monitoring some areas in NW Indiana, although I have not found coverage for the NS line through Hammond/Whiting.
