It's for the early adopters who just have to have it now,
and maybe for the indi film studios. I'm sure that I will
be able to upgrade to a Nikon D625 in a few years for
$1500, and of course it will have 4K, and will probably be
a few months behind the Canon 5D Mark V, which will be
the first DSLR with 4K.

The lens is likely something from the EF autofocus lenses Canon uses for their DSLR and 35 mm cameras(24-105L f 4.0?). And, I suspect the Prosumer and consumer cameras are coming behind this one. The high end is likely clamouring for these camera right now more than the hobbyist comsumer market. Your phone will probably do this at your next upgrade.....
