Railfan Technology > What is best antenna for Uniden BC92XLTDate: 09/28/17 19:10 What is best antenna for Uniden BC92XLT Author: 2839Canadian The antenna on my hand-held Uniden BC92XLT is old and has a loose connection. I miss transmissions because of this.
What would be a good replacement antenna? Thanks in advance. Date: 09/28/17 20:05 Re: What is best antenna for Uniden BC92XLT Author: wa4umr I think that radio has an BNC type connector on it. If you don't mind the extra length (about 17"), the MFJ-1717 is a great choice. It will out perform any of the shorter rubber duckie antennas. Cost is about $20. You can order direct from MFJ Enterprises or several other vendors that handle Amateur Radio / Ham Radio equipment.
If your radio has a different type connector, MFJ makes models for most other connectors types. John Date: 09/29/17 05:58 Re: What is best antenna for Uniden BC92XLT Author: 2839Canadian Very helpful, thanks.

RH 77 is $26.99............Swede..............Albany,OR........... Date: 10/18/17 08:40 Re: What is best antenna for Uniden BC92XLT Author: grahamline The RH77 is very nice but it's a little tall and whippy to carry around some times. I also have a shorter and more rigid 'tuned' rubber duck, either from Smiley or one of the other customizers, that's set up for 161 mhz and works very well for railroad radio.

Works great, doesn't get in the way like longer antennas do. It's available in whatever base you need. Always great service from Smiley as well.
