IPhone photo uploads
Author: Auburnrail

Anything new here? Current IOS updates on IPhone changed the picture format so that TO does not recognize them and can’t be uploaded.
I can’t be the only one with this problem, as Inoted some months ago. Any workaround on this?

I posted the work around on 12/8/17. Load Snapseed on your device.

Well, thought that this would do it....no such luck, just a good editing download. Does not change format into something that TO recognizes. No joy, and no upload.

You likely need to "save as" after opening the picture in the editor. If I recall the issue is that Apple saves the file as a .jpeg while Trainorders software expects a three character extension, ie, .jpg

Tried that too. The current IOS upgrade does not seem to allow
Any format change. So TO needs to open this up
From their end. Most of the time my phone is my camera,
and I can’t be the only one. TO, when will this happen?

What DOES work is coping the picture to your computer then using a photo editer on your computer save it to an acceptable format and then post.

On the new iphones (7+,8+ and X) Apple by default uses a new compression routine to save space in memory.
This method is not even compatible with Dropbox.
Go to Settings/Camera/Format and select "Most Compatible".
Photos then upload to Dropbox without any problem.
Haven't tried with TO since I don't do much rail fanning.

Thanks. That’s been one of the previous recommendations. Doesn’ t work on TO uploads.
Only thing that works is to download to a Windows photo
Program (not that intuitive a process with IPhones) and then upload from there. Uploading to a MAC
doesn’t allow transfer to TO.
