I'm shooting with a Sony FDR-AX33 4K camcorder. On my previous PC with Windows XP I used to used Microsoft Movie maker. Many thanks, Ed K. Don't download the other junk they want you to install though. I think you can just select Movie Maker and click install. I don't know though if it supports 4k though. I have a Canon HF g20 and it does fine with Movie Maker. It does AVCHD Mp4's I think. Now for making DVD's the selected software that comes with your camera is probably the best option because Windows 10 doesn't have DVD maker that I know of. You might have to google DVD maker for windows 7 and install it into Windows 10.

I now use a program called "HitFilm". It's a free software with a good amount of community around it, and lots of tutorials out there. I will say, it's more involved/complex than moviemaker, but once you use it a little bit, it isn't too hard to do some basic editing. I've really come to enjoy it for the little bit of editing I do. You may want to look into it if you can't get Moviemaker back.
Hope this helps, -Caleb |
