Railfan Technology > Epson V800 scanner Q

I recently got a high-end scanner to deal with some steam negatives. Various sizes, but mostly 616. However, I run Windows 10 and the mfr website (which I didn't read until after I had problems) says it runs on Windows 8 or earlier versions.

There is a current driver.....anyone know if that'll make the scanner run on 10, or do I need to shop for an old computer so this isn't a doorstop?

I have a older V500 and I run it on a windows 10 machine and it runs great. I use the Epson software and it is pretty easy to use and does make some good looking scans. I just looked at the driver for the V800 and it says it will run on 32 and 64 bit Windows 10. I would just use the Epson software and go for it. If you need more control than try Vuescan.

The driver and scan utility signed 01/13/17 indicates it is WIN 10 compatible

I have a V700, use the Epson software and it works like a champ on Windows 10. Just need to check on updates for the drivers when you upgrade.

At the risk of suggesting the obvious, I would try Vuescan. With my V550 Vuescan is much easier to user than the Epson software that came with the scanner.
