Victor A. Baird http://www.erstwhilepublications.com Date: 03/06/18 17:46 Re: Yahoo Groups Jumping Ship Author: sptno Lot's of continued issues with Yahoo Groups and Verizon, I think who now owns it, does not want to fix the issues.
Some of my ham groups have already jumped ship. Pat WA5VRO South Austin, TX Date: 03/06/18 21:12 Re: Yahoo Groups Jumping Ship Author: trainjunkie One of the many Yahoo Groups I belong to that migrated to groups.io recently and explained the move pretty well. I don't recall which group the e-mail came and I can't recall the exact story but basically a guy named Mark Fletcher founded ONElist in 1998 thenchanged its name to eGroups, which was then acquired by Yahoo around 2000 then Yahoo re-branded the groups as Yahoo Groups.
Yahoo has completely screwed up their group platform and neglected to keep it functioning properly so Mark came back to the business and started groups.io, and provided easy migration tools to allow Yahoo Group owners to easily migrate their group to his platform. So basically, what's old is new again. I would expect most of your groups to migrate from Yahoo to groups.io so get used to it. Yahoo has botched up so many of their services that I'm surprised most of them still even exist. Date: 03/07/18 09:19 Re: Yahoo Groups Jumping Ship Author: jst3751 trainjunkie Wrote:

Wow, that is very similar to what TrainOrders went through in early years. You'd think with Verizon owning Yahoo, they would WANT it to work with their phones! Date: 03/08/18 11:08 Re: Yahoo Groups Jumping Ship Author: jst3751 CZ10 Wrote:

Do something that makes sense? Do something that is logical? Surely, you jest! Date: 03/15/18 19:15 Re: Yahoo Groups Jumping Ship Author: chakk Don't call me Shirley.

Oveur: Roger. Murdock: Huh? LA Control Tower: L.A. departure frequency: 1-2-3 point 9'er. Oveur: Roger. Murdock: Huh? Basta: Request vector, over. Oveur: What? LA Control Tower: Flight 2-0-9'er, clear for vector 2-3-4. Murdock: We have clearance, Clarence. Oveur: Roger, Roger. What's our vector, Victor? Joey: Wait a minute. I know you. You're Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. You play basketball for the Los Angeles Lakers. Roger Murdock: I'm sorry, son, but you must have me confused with someone else. My name is Roger Murdock. I'm the co-pilot. Joey: You are Kareem! I've seen you play. My dad's got season tickets. Roger Murdock: I think you should go back to your seat now, Joey. Right, Clarence? Captain Oveur: Nahhhhhh, he's not bothering anyone. Let him stay here. Roger Murdock: But just remember, my name is... [showing his nametag] Roger Murdock: ROGER MURDOCK. I'm an airline pilot. Joey: I think you're the greatest, but my dad says you don't work hard enough on defense. [Kareem gets angry] Joey: And he says that lots of times, you don't even run down court. And that you don't really try... except during the playoffs. Roger Murdock: [breaking character] The hell I don't! LISTEN, KID! I've been hearing that crap ever since I was at UCLA. I'm out there busting my buns every night! Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes! Young Boy with Coffee: Excuse me, I happened to be passing, and I thought you might like some coffee. Little Girl: Oh, that's very nice of you, thank you. [takes coffee] Little Girl: Oh, won't you sit down? Young Boy with Coffee: Cream? Little Girl: No, thank you, I take it black, like my men. Date: 04/17/18 17:10 Re: Yahoo Groups Jumping Ship Author: mundo One group that I am aware, the posters would love to leave Yahoo, but can not find the owner of the site or they will not respond, in order to allow the switch. Nor will the present owner allow new members to join.
Date: 04/24/18 18:11 Re: Yahoo Groups Jumping Ship Author: wabash2800 Once I went over to the new platform, my yahoo groups having been coming over a few at a time. I note that since the initial sign up I no longer have to do anything. I can log into the new platform with any group that has switched.
Victor A. Baird http://www.erstwhilepublications.com Date: 04/29/18 10:15 Re: Yahoo Groups Jumping Ship Author: grahamline Sounds like time to create an io group with the same identity and transfer valued files manually. Lots of Yahoo absentee owners.
Does the Observation Car group on Yahoo still function? Date: 04/29/18 12:39 Re: Yahoo Groups Jumping Ship Author: anthracite grahamline Wrote:
