Railfan Technology > Old negative scanningDate: 03/27/18 09:05 Old negative scanning Author: train513 I have been considering an Epson V600 for scanning a raft of old negatives, shots that were taken in the 50's and 60's with a cheap camera. My negatives are mostly 2 1/4 x 2 1/4, but a few are 2 1/4 x 4 1/4. Will this device process these negatives with the holders provided ? And does this machine then produce positive images from those negs to be put into my laptop ? Greatly appreciate any input. Thanks !

The software with it will show the neg as positive on the screen Date: 03/27/18 22:09 Re: Old negative scanning Author: JimBaker It may be possible to make an adapter carrier to mount the negatives in a larger frame by cutting two insert frames one larger and the other smaller like a sandwich to hold the negative in place.

I have used this technique to scan thousands of my negs and slides and it's every bit as good as scanning and a whole lot cheaper and easier. |
