While I am certainly no expert, I've found Movie Maker to be quite useful for several years now. When I got a new computer and upgraded to Windows 10, Movie Maker was no longer provided as a feature by Microsoft, so I found a new source which is:
https://www.videowinsoft.com/videowin-movie-maker.html and downloaded Movie Maker. Best part is that it's free! It is very simple to use and you can check my YouTube channel for my results (search "Larry W. Grant"). Like I said, I'm no expert but as time goes on and I use it more and more, I am learning how to use more features all the time. Hope this is of help to you.

I agree with Larry, I use Windows MovieMaker on my Windows 10 PC.

I used iMovie that came with the iLife DVD ROM set.  At one time, iMovie did come with iMacs.  Easy to use.
