Railfan Technology > Has TO changed how pages appear?Date: 06/17/23 17:25 Has TO changed how pages appear? Author: RailRat Pic 1 normal, text left to right is aligned under top banner.
Pic 2 after tapping on individual thread, text extends to right past top banner. Pic 3: text extends past top banner to the right so I have to Zoom in and scroll right to left on each line to Completely read the whole text. I used to notice a few threads would appear this way every Now and then, but now it's all of them. Also as I type text, it keeps going to the right our of view, then finally down to the next line Thanks for any info. My browser is Chrome on Android phone. Jim Baker Riverside, CA Edited 2 time(s). Author: jgilmore Don't know the reason but I've noticed this on many occasions, it can be quite irritating when you're reading someone's reply...

"To fit" would be based on screen sizes of the users, in this case a browser on the Smartphone. TO hasn't changed how the pages appear, as the site gets updated far less frequently than the browser, in this case, Chrome on Android. People take for granted the price of Smartphone "convenience" which squeezes pixels in such a small space just so they can access it "anywhere" anytime. This web site is supposed to be viewed in landscape mode (wider more than taller) while Smartphone users normally view things in portrait mode (taller more than wider). That's in addition to the limited screen real estate of the Smartphone. I haven't taken the bait on the "convenience" of the Smartphone, so this is not an issue for me. A good compromise would be using tablets (iPad), which is large enough that viewing in landscape mode is not a hassle, unlike a Smartphone where people are "forced" to view portrait mode to make it fit in one hand. I wouldn't expect TO software to be constantly updated just to cater to the whims of Smartphone ergonomics. Date: 06/19/23 09:58 Re: Has TO changed how pages appear? Author: webmaster We haven't updated the interface in several years and it is the same as it has been. We keep it simple to keep it compatible with all devices.

To get the appearance back to "normal" I hit the "control" button, and at the same time use the "scroll" button on the mouse to reduce the page format to the point that 100% of it will be displayed. Your mileage may vary. Greg Stadter Phoenix, AZ Date: 06/21/23 20:46 Re: Has TO changed how pages appear? Author: RailRat webmaster Wrote:
