UP 1943 "Spirit of the Union Pacific" passing through Utah
Author: mpaul101

The "Spirit of the Union Pacific" UP 1943 leads a 20 car passenger special around the sweeping curve of Lofgreen, UT. One of the most scenic curves along Union Pacific's Lynndyl Sub. Rumor is that the president of the Union Pacific was on board.

Thanks for looking!

Will it tie up for the night in Reno/Sparks or continue on through Truckee and over Donner?

Anyone know where this train is headed once it reaches the Bay Area (assuming it continues west from Sparks)?

I’ve heard rumors that’s it’s next stop is Bakersfield . . .

Wow!! And gosh, you got lucky that it fits just perfectly around that sweeping curve! Tremendous!
Send to UPRR for their calendar ( even though they SAY they don’t publish biz / excursion train photos, they should make an exception for this fine photo).
