Forty Friday

A westbound train near Maryhill WA, May 20, 2006, a trip to Gorge Rail weekend. Sure is beautiful scenery along the Columbia River.

A lot more variety on BNSF trains in the Gorge at that time.

I was there that weekend, too. All kinds of cool power running around. A high point in terms of traffic, as well. Thanks for sharing.

I had my engineers card just over a year and was working out of Wishram at this time. This was pretty much the last stand for spartan cabs in the gorge. The 08 recession and influx of GEVO's finally ended the era. There are people on the railroad today, that hired out after that time that think SD40-2's and GP's are "switchers" and have no idea they were regular road power. Thanks for taking us back, hard to believe this classifies as nostalgia 😆
