I would not know how to set up a camera to shoot directly at the sun.  Must need special filters?

So this signal has a "solar" aspect instead of a "lunar"?

Outstanding image, outstanding composition!!! Perfect in its simplicity, and perfect in its complexity. We rarely see what I would argue is 3 focal points at the same time. The blast of light coming through the pinhole, the 3 silhouetted colored lenses and of course the sun itself. Partially hidden, so as to not dominate the scene. But bright enough to be a focal point. And all of this activity in the bottom third of the image. With the tip of the semaphore blade teasing the eye away from the main focal points, but letting it return right back down. This image needs to be professionally mounted and hung on a wall where a great many people will see & admire it...
