Eastern Railroad Discussion > Loram Rail Grinder-In the Dark and SnowDate: 02/25/21 16:14 Loram Rail Grinder-In the Dark and Snow Author: PC1073 While I've seen this thing working on a few occasions in the daylight, I'd never managed to photograph it in the dark.
Thanks to the usual CSX shenanigans, it finally happened. Seen here passing SEPTA's Cheltenham Station (off to the left in hte 1st image), they're working along the CSX Trenton Sub., around MP QA 9.7, in Philadelphia Pa. Thanks, Tim McRea Date: 02/25/21 17:23 Re: Loram Rail Grinder-In the Dark and Snow Author: GPutz Thanks for the memories. My parents lived in the Cheltenham Station Apartments, about 200 feet east of the station in Philadelphia, '92 - '96. The old RDG statoin, which burned down in late '92 or early '93 was in Cheltenham, PA, to the left side of your first picture. Gerry

Date: 02/26/21 11:28 Re: Loram Rail Grinder-In the Dark and Snow Author: ABB Normally they will skip turnouts. There is a much smaller machine that is designed to grind turnouts.
