When I read = Monahans, TX- it reminded me of the superb Guy Clark Train Song, called Texas 1947. Easily found on Youtube, and elsewhere. "Big and Red and Silver- she don't make no smoke" -- just one line, from that incredible Song. It was a reminiscence of the townsfolk, including Guy himself. In Monahans, of very first high speed diesel Passenger Train, that blasted through his Town. He did lay a "Nickel on the track," as a souvenir; many of us may have done the same thing. |
