Houston, Texas Mayor Bill White is targeting two freight train companies in his fight against traffic congestion.

The mayor says Houstonians are upset that Burlington Northern and Union Pacific Park trains park across local intersections. The mayor says the train companies are working with a city and federal task force to fix the problem.

"Trains are parking for 20, 25, 30 minutes, blocking traffic on major thoroughfares and that is just not right," said Mayor White.

Starting next week, the city's 311 system will start taking complaints about trains parked across intersections.
