Amtrak Crew Interviewed by NTSB in Mississippi Derailment

Federal safety officials plan to interview crew members today of an Amtrak train that derailed outside Jackson Mississippi.

Investigators are hoping to get a better of idea of what caused the train to jump the tracks Tuesday night in Yazoo City. At this time, the agency says there's no reason to believe the incident was anything but a horrible accident, meaning they do not suspect terrorism.

The National Transportation Safety Board says it handles all investigations in the same manner. For example it is routine to order drug and alcohol tests on the crew, which has already been done in this case. Investigators say it will take around a week to get those results back. At this time, they will work to retrieve an 'event recorder' from the crash site, which they believe will help piece together events immediately leading up to the crash.

The NTSB says it does not know when the tracks will be re-opened. Their investigation is likely to take a year or more.

One person was killed in the accident and 60 people were injured. Only four of those remain hospitalized this morning.
