CN to Replace 81 Miles of Rail, Add Second Main Track on US Divisions

This year, CN Railway's United States Region engineering crews will replace 81 miles of rail, renew nearly 326,000 crossties, and install 109 turnouts.

A total of 39.5 miles of new welded rail will be installed on the Michigan Division between Durand, MI and Stillwell, IN. New rail is also planned for the Wisconsin Division between Ranier and Ray, MN and between Ackerville and Allenton, WI.

In addition, 4.6 miles of second main track will be built between Rugby and Slinger, WI. A total of 13 sidings on the Wisconsin Division will be ex-tended to 10,000 feet.

"It's capacity, speed, and efficiency all rolled into one," says Region Chief Engineer Dave Ferryman.
