NYSW B40-8s Heading to P&W

The New York Susquehanna & Western's small fleet of B40-8s, 4002, 4004, 4006 and 4008, that have been sidelined by the railroad since their lease expired last year, have found a new home.

After spending much of their time stored since relinquishing the lease back to General Electric Transportation Group, the units are now seeing movement to a new owner, the Providence & Worcester Railroad in Worcester, Massachusetts.

P&W's recent trend has been geared towards a General Electric movement with the acquisition of former LMX B39-8Es and former Burlington Northern B30-7ABs. The group is expected to arrive during the last weeks of April and be serviced and setup at P&W's Worcester shops.

All four units are expected to be routed via Canadian Pacific Railway from Binghamton to Whitehall, NY, then Vermont Railway to the New England Central and south to New London, Connecticut for delivery to the P&W.
