UPRR Names Moore to General Manager of Public Partnerships

Union Pacific has named Scott D. Moore general manager of public partnerships.

In his new role, Moore is responsible for managing and expanding Union Pacific's relationships with the many agencies, usually governmental, that partner with the railroad to solve communities' transportation needs.

Moore will report directly to Union Pacific's recently created Office of the Chairman, comprised of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dick Davidson, Vice Chairman Ike Evans and President Jim Young.

As demands on the nation's highways grow, public and governmental agencies are actively looking to railroads to help find innovative solutions to transportation problems. Moore will work directly with agencies throughout the Union Pacific system to help identify these transportation needs and solutions.

His responsibilities will include cultivating and maintaining relationships with the myriad of agencies involved in negotiating transportation projects, and organizing and managing internal Union Pacific teams to ensure proper resources within the railroad are deployed.

Additionally, Moore will coordinate Union Pacific's relationships with many of the Port Authorities located within the railroad's operating system, particularly on the West Coast.

Moore joined Union Pacific in 2000 as director of Government Affairs and is a former Nebraska Secretary of State and Nebraska State Senator. He holds a degree in political science from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.
