BNSF Derailment in IA Resulted in Minor Collision

A two-train collision caused a partial-derailment and stopped all traffic on the BNSF railroad in Fort Madison, Iowa, for several hours last Thursday.

Fort Madison Fire Marshal Virgil Krogmeier, who was in charge at the scene of the incident, said in a statement the accident happened late in the morning on Thursday, but the specific cause has yet to be determined.
