FEC Reaches Agreement Revisions with Unions

Florida East Coast Railway, the transportation subsidiary of Florida East Coast Industries, Inc., announced it had concluded discussions with the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Division of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (BMWED), United Transportation Union (UTU) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) on revision of current agreements.

Most recently, FEC concluded negotiations with the BMWED and signed a five-year extension to the current agreement, extending it through December 31, 2009. The BMWED agreement represents approximately 120 employees who work on and maintain the right-of-way between Jacksonville and Miami.

"We are pleased to finalize these talks and extend all our agreements, which range from three to five years. The agreements provide well-balanced wage and benefit solutions for employees and the Company and exemplify a unified commitment to continued success. Completing these successful negotiations will allow us to remain competitive and enhance the outlook for our Company, our employees and our customers," said John McPherson, President and Chief Operating Officer of FEC.
