The former LTV Steel GP38-3s have apparently been accepted by the management of the Maryland Midland and will be heading for new duties in Maryland.

All four units, LTV 4200-4203, were put the test by MMID staff in Proctor, Minnesota, before the decision was made for their purchase. The units were set up in pairs with pull and dynamic brake testing. All four were said to be in excellent shape, needing only minor repairs.

The group is destined to become MMID 303-306 and will stay at Proctor until bids have been returned to the MMID for their painting. Several bids have been received, while VMV-Paducah and Norfolk Southern
