CN Worker Seriously Injured in Winnipeg Yard Accident

A CN Rail worker was injured in what was deemed an industrial accident at the railroad's Winnipeg, Manitoba yard.

While not reporting specifics about the incident which occurred at approximately 19:40 CST on Tuesday night, CN Rail spokesman Jim Feeny said the unidentified employee suffered "a serious injury to his leg".

He would not confirm rumours the man's leg was amputated. "I can provide you with no information about that," Feeny said.

Described as an "experienced rail employee," the worker was injured while in the course of routine duties, at the Transcona Yards on Pandora Avenue, Feeny said. "He was working in a rail yard where we load rail onto cars for movement along our network."
