Cornerstone Systems Expands to Railroad Transportation Services

Memphis-based Cornerstone Systems is expanding its trucking distribution and logistics business to include railroad transportation services.

In a release, Cornerstone CEO Rick Rodell says industries that have not used rail for shipping in 15-20 years have begun adding rail to their distribution strategy, opening up the opportunity for his company.

"Railcar shipping offers significant savings to companies looking for innovative ways to reduce costs," he says.

Burke Anderson, a former executive with The Hub Group and Canadian Pacific Railroad with 18 years experience in the rail industry, has been hired to lead Cornerstone's new rail services division.
