BNSF CA Derailment Near Tehachapi Spills LPG

A BNSF Railway derailment east of Bakersfield, Califorinia disrupted rail traffic over Tehachapi on Sunday night and Monday.

BNSF\'s Bakersfield to Barstow, California train M-BAKBAR1-27 saw eleven cars derail on the single main track at Marcel, California. The cars, all reportedly tank cars, were hauling liquid petroleum gas, and left the rails at about 20:45 PST Sunday night.

As crews worked to clear the initial derailment, six more cars left the tracks and at least one of those tanks began leaking. There were no injuries reported and clean-up was expected to be completed on Monday.
