Officials with Burlington Northern Santa Fe completed agreements with six unions to transfer former locomotive shop workers out of state Thursday, the same day the city of Burlington filed a lawsuit to keep those workers at home.

BNSF announced in December that its locomotive repair shops would be consolidated in Topeka, Kan., leaving only 44 workers in Burlington to repair parts only.
