Name: Jim Abney
Interests: I first briefly ran a steam locomotive (Oregon- American Lumber Company's 01/1925 2-6-2 #105) in Vernonia, Oregon on July 4, 1958. Since then I've been privileged to run about a dozen steamers ranging in size from the 9-ton Washington Park & Zoo Railway's 30" gauge model of the Virginia & Truckee Railroad's "Reno" to the 440-ton Spokane, Portland & Seattle Railway #700, which my father ran in the early 1950s. On 10/22/1937 (his 25th birthday) he fired the maiden voyage of the SP&S 4-6-6-4 #900 from Parkwater (Spokane) to Pasco.
