Spent a couple of summer vacations in the late '60s, early '70s working MOW and switching for the Kansas City Terminal RR (my dad was the personnel manager and labor relations director). Tossed mailbags at Christmas under the Union Station during the same time period. Worked a few months as a clerk and telegrapher for the Santa Fe at Argentine. Fell into computers and worked 19 years in the airline industry (ironically, an excellent occupation for a railfan - free flying), and have spent the last 10 in the financial industry in California. |
