Need steady railroad employment? Head east to Chicago and the surrounding area terminals feeding a steady flow of trains into the rail capital of the world. The action is non-stop.
As a native of our favorite state, Nebraska, I found it essential for steady work starting on the Milwaukee Road out of Bensonville, IL then the Santa Fe at Joliet, IL 36 years ago.
Maybe some don't have options due to family commitments, but Chicago is one option for year-round work.
