Old meets new on the former Santa Fe in Azusa, CA...
Author: PasadenaSub

I finally got a picture of a train going over the new bridges and elevated trackage created by the line relocation on the former ATSF Pasadena Subdivision in Azusa, CA today.

This afternoon, I could hear the horn of a westbound passing Glendora and figured it was the Sunday BNSF 1st Kaiser Switch job. Turns out it was a baretable train bringing flatcars to store at Irwindale, as TO member OYW caught it in Upland westbound:

After a bit of time, I finally caught the engines heading east at the new Citrus Avenue overpass, with the stub segment of the original mainline (between Palm Dr. and Citrus) in the foreground. With the eclectic power of BN Green SD40-2 7157, B&Y GP35 2561, and H2 GP38 2163 (ex-PC/CR) - I almost wish I had caught the set on another day instead of on this 'experimental shot'. But you get what ya' get, and I was glad to finally get a train here before the old rail is removed.

That's a neat lineup. Got the BN, the SF, and the BNSF all in one. It's rare I've seen that mix in one set. Now all you have to do is show us something running on the old track!
