There are q trains in and out of Birmingham, they may change from day to day, BIRLAC, BIRCLO, LACBIR, CLOBIR
also auto trains V-BIRCLO, V-BIRRIC, and to and from Sandy Eggo to Birmingham, what is Sandy Eggo SDG ??
The auto trains may be to and from LA, BNSF changes symbols to meet what traffic they have.

In 5 years of working the Transcon I've never seen:

ZSBDCHI/ZCHISBD...they are Q's.
ZNBYKCK (although your ZKCKNBY has/does run)

Off the top of my head missing are the
ZKCKSBD/ZSBDKCK
ZWSPPHX
ZKCKLAC/ZLACKCK

There's also tons of stack trains missing as well as Q's and no doubt manifests. BNSF symbols are constantly changing and updating as traffic changes. It's always hard to keep up!

These symbols will jar more memories I'm sure.

If you want to see 24 hours of trains including the train symbols on the Transcon between Clovis and Fort Ssumner back in May, they are all in our latest DVD - "The Transcon in Eastern New Mexico".

An interesting list. You really need the suffix on the symbol, such as Spy has listed, as there are different variants between the same origination and destination.

a couple of additions:

Q-STOCHI6
S-HOUSCO1
Q-STOATG1

This is long, but below I have posted my notes including train symbols from the 24 hours plus of videotaping I did in May on the Transcon between CLovis and Fort Sumner. As mentioned above, all of these trains are in our new program on the Transcon.

Here are some symbols going to Long Beach today;

Q-LPCSCO2-24 ,, S-LPCLGB3-23 ., S-PTRLHA5-23, and S-KCKSCO3-23

BNSF changes symbols and runs trains according to freight. They do not run the same trains every day like other railroads. A complete symbol list for BNSF is impossible.
They run a H-MEMBAR if they have the freight.

Hello, can I have an additional question? I know the last two digits means day of the month, but what means the last letter? For example ZLACNYC9-16A goes 16th day of the month, but what is "A"?
