While I was on my Winterail tour last week I spent some time along UP's ex-SP Ogden Line east of Reno. Along the Truckee River there are interesting locations until the line straightens out east of Fernley.

1. Amtrak #5 banks into a curve west of Thisbe.

2. One angle that turned out OK for an afternoon eastbound was at the east switch at Darwin.

3. A little BNSF BS at Reno.

4. The ZDLSK makes good time just minutes out of Sparks.

5. The BNSF Reno local at Patrick.
