We'll have an official Post Office "Station" set up at the Depot for special commemorative envelope cancellations. The cancellation stamp will boast the original logo created by ED DELVERS for the Friends of the Tehachapi Depot. These envelopes will only be available that day unless you pre-order one from FOTD by writing to FOTD@TehachapiDepot.com
The festivities begin at 12:00 noon and continue until 4:00 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1:00 p.m. We're also planning a 'soft opening' for members only on June 2, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. RSVP to FOTD@TehachapiDepot.com Or mail your payment with name, address & phone number to FOTD Soft Opening, P. O. Box 2044, Tehachapi, CA 93581. Memberships can be acquired at the door or with your reservation. Yearly memberships are $20 for individuals and $35 for families (two adults and children under the age of 18). If you love the Tehachapi Loop and railfanning in the area, you won't want to miss this special event. Tehachap I've been corrected as to who actually created the logo for Friends of the Tehachapi Depot -- it was Ed Delvers, not Dave Burton who designed the logo.
