Question about BNSF GP60B's
Author: ns2557

I haven't seen one of these units in quite awhile. I know about the "potential rebuild" making them cab units, but are any in service currently or are they all stored ? And while were at it, is there a current roster type of the UP SD32ECO/SD59MX units anywhere out in Computer Land? Trying to find out about the 9907 and so far, no luck. Did manage a shot today of one of the GP40X's tho, and I know there were only 10 of these, so they must still be in service. (Have seen the 3030, 3033, 3035 over the summer, managed shots of em all) Thanks for any insight and replies. Ben

I thought they were all in storage in Chicago (Corwith, maybe?).

all in storage at Corwith, with the obvious exception of the one unit which was converted to a GP60 and renumbered 170

UP 9907 was shipped from the Pueblo Test Center to EMD LaGrange, IL back on August 23rd. It should have arrived by now.

I photographed BNSF 341 in what appears to be a "LUGO" lineup at Northtown Yard in Minneapolis, two weeks back. It was the only GP60 amongst several SD45-2s, SD40-2s and assorted GPs. About 15 units total.

They have been stored for many, many months but are supposed to be evaluated for repairs.
