Preliminary Report: Derailment near Cassoday, Kansas Intermodal train Z-STOWSP8-03 has derailed near Cassoday, Kansas at 2:30 a.m. CDT on September 5, 2011. This location is approximately 80 miles east of Wellington, Kansas. BNSF personnel are on site to determine the impact. It is estimated that the main track will be returned to service at 7:30 a.m., CDT on Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Reroutes are being established in order to minimize impact to our customers. BNSF will continue to provide you with additional information as it becomes available. Customers may experience delays of 24 to 36 hours on shipments moving through this area.
