Warbonnets for a wednesday . .

. . few favorites from last year. They are getting harder and harder to catch leading escpecially clean.
top: northbound empty grain at the "secret spot" at Palmer Lake, CO on the Joint Line 4-11.
middle: a very lucky catch while driving along the Columbia River in OR. Southbound departing Wishram, WA crossing the Columbia River at Celio, OR 9-11.
bottom: northbound freight climbing the Palmer Divide between Monument and Palmer Lake, CO on Joint Line 11-11.

Fantastic lash-up and the moon included in your third picture! Thank God for those 700's as the other Warbonnets, like the second engine in your second shot are terrible.

My how the mighty have fallen, #727 was in Wichita yesterday pulling the rail train as the BNSF was dropping new ribbon rail for the main through north Wichita. Still looked pretty decent, but not hauling high-priority cargo any more. (sigh)

Dan in Wichita
