More UP C40-8s to Burnham
Author: kyrasmus

Southbound lite engine movement into Denver this morning with the 9104, 9251, 9201, 9214 and 9351 in tow. They mostly looked pretty good. Sad to think how bad they may get tagged parked at Burnham.

Shouldn't be any Ex-CNWs there. If I recall correctly those were all returned to the lessor.

Then bought by CN. CN is buying more C40-8's. SD60's and their first AC traction locomotives.

The ex-C&NW C40-8s have all been returned to their lessors.

All the original UP C40-8's and variants are still on the roster minus some wreck victims. Not to say they are all in service right now, but they are still on the roster.

All,

This post rang a bell regarding UP's MRONY shot on 3/27 coming into Denver. The third unit (of three) on the head-end was UP 9160. I didn't note whether it was on line or not. Figure it was going into storage at Burnham?
