Good evening everyone!

This weekend is Folsom, CA the third annual RailFest is taking place and you are all invited to attend. This year celebrates the 150th Anniversary of the Historic Placerville & Sacramento Valley Railroad with music, train rides, antique tractors and equipment, model trains, food and crafts, as well as face painting, balloons and a bounce house for the little ones! Handcar rides will be available for everyone!

The event starts Friday, September 21st, with a family oriented "Hobo Feast" from 6-8pm, featuring the bluegrass sounds of the Piney Creek Weasels!
Tickets are $5 for Adults, and Kids are just a Buck!

Hot Dogs and Baked Beans will be served picnic style and soft drinks are only $1. Period dress is encouraged, so come down dressed as a hobo, railroad engineer, gold miner, or just plain "town folk".

Socialize with some of the many volunteers who work on this railroad and support them as they preserve our heritage for future generations!

Train Rides start Saturday the 22nd, and kick-off in military style with the Civil War era Brass Band from the 5th California Volunteer Regiment! Explore the Festival Activities while you wait to board your train, and don't miss the bluegrass, folk, and railroad tunes of "SimpleFolk" Saturday and Sunday afternoons between 1pm and 3:30pm.

Festival Hours are 10am to 5pm Saturday, 10am to 4pm Sunday.
Location: Old Placerville Rd. & East Bidwell at Hwy 50 - Hampton Station
Down the Street from 'In n Out Burger' & 'Starbucks'

The "County Line Limited" leaves the station on the hour during Festival hours, and prices are $10 for adults, $5 for youths 6-16 yrs old. Kids 5 and under are always free! The "White Rock Express" leaves at the top and bottom of each hour, and the price is $5 for anyone over 5 years of age.

The last train for BOTH rides departs at 5pm Saturday, and 4pm Sunday.

WARNING! Keep your valuables and loved ones close, as bandits have been seen in the area!

If you run into the P&SV guys, ask them nicely to update their website! Us CA ex-pats like to keep up on the
old homestead, naw wut I mean?
