Western Railroad Discussion > "Da Bears," & the Burlington @ Berwyn...

Spent a little time this afternoon at Berwyn IL, on the BNSF "Racetrack" west of Chicago. I planted myself a block east of the Berwyn station, conveniently adjacent to a sports bar, where I could occasionally keep track of the Bears (and Lions) between trains on this sunny football Sunday. BNSF didn't disappoint, and neither did my teams!

Yes. From growing up in Michigan, I've concluded that Chicago is definitely on the right side of the lake. Those clouds visible in the background, a common occurrence, are undoubtedly spread to the east over the entire Wolverine State, while clear skies prevail over Chicago and the prairie lands to the west. Happens that way more often than one might think.

Even with the new Signal Bridge, these photos still scream CBQ...

Not likely as he was in the hospital over the weekend. He had a heart attack but is said to be recovering nicely.

Maybe somebody can cure him with some rubber chicken soup. I hope he recovers quickly.
