Nomo's NW Vacation
Author: nomosantafe

I recently spent a week in Oregon & Washington. I was there to attend the Autumn Leaf 2012 Slide Show in Centralia, WA.

I spent several days in the Columbia Gorge. The weather wasn't great, but it was still great to spend time in "God's country" (I know, Texan's won't agree).

Her's a few photos from my trip.

1. WB at Stevenson, WA 10/25/12

2. WB between Hood & Cooks

3. This used to be a Calendar Shot for the SP&S , tree has grown up in the last 20 years

I got out on Sunday with old friend TO member "aline". I've known him since 2nd grade (1958) and we try to get out for a day of foaming every time I'm in Oregn.

It's part of the BNSF fire train equipment.

Wow, a Safeway reefer trailer first out on the Z.

Looks like you went out with Al Z?

Lots of great trains, even if the weather was no great shakes.

Best regards,

Rob L.

Photos 16, 17 & 18 show the coke train that runs for Billings, MT to Roberts Bank, BC for export. Not sure of the frequency, but probably 1 or 2 a month tops? Lucky catch.

(Edit on the destination thanks to Dale below.)

Great shots, Nomo. Nice to see the Gorge in its natural state - cloudy. ">D

Yes it is, Dale! Thanks for the correction. No idea where 'Riverbank' came from in mind last night. I corrected it above too.

Yo, Randy! Nice photos!

That guy in the photo. I might know him. Our paths crossed at Oregon State once or twice.
